New Beginnings

Everyone has asked me why this and why now? Why open a business now? Have you seen the economy? All that uncertainty, I’m not sure it’s such a good idea. And besides aren’t florists going the way of the buggy whip anyway? This has been a long time in coming- a lot of soul searching and months and months of planning.

In 2011, my uncle approached me about returning to my old life and taking the helm of the family chain of flowers shops. However, at the time, I was an attorney, married to a busy physician and was rearing three young children. I had to pass because the time was not right.

Fast forward to early 2020, when all our lives changed dramatically- COVID lockdowns. No longer in court every day and with all the kids practically grown, two in college and the youngest in high school, it afforded me some time for self-reflection.

I began to remember all the happy memories of growing up in the business. I had always regretted declining the offer to rejoin the family business, now shuttered for over a decade. Unfulfilled with the practice of law, more vocation than passion, I began to really give considerable thought to this crazy idea. Well, here we are-two years later and a lot of hard work, but I’ve never been happier to reenter an industry which I say still plays a vital role in people’s lives. Perhaps, even more so with the pace of life and the disconnectedness of all. Flowers have the power to uplift and bring people together across the miles. So, please give me the honor of being a part of the most important events in your life and those of your family.
